Not only that, but every character is valuable and important (even the non-mystical characters, like Xander). It's about self-empowerment as much as female empowerment, and it's because of Buffy that I often find myself drawn to female heroes more so than male heroes. As long as the story entertains and the lessons are worthwhile, it's a win!
